Microsoft Teams admin center has a basic alerting configuration, which will give you the ability to proactively monitor the health of Teams devices when the device status goes into an offline state and receive alerts in real-time if the monitored device is offline for more than 2 minutes.
How to configure alerting -
- Login to Microsoft Teams Admin Center
- Navigate to the "Notification and alerts" section
- Select Rules
- Currently, there are two rules by default created by Microsoft, 1 - App submissions, and 2 - Device Rules
- Select "Device state rule"
There is very limited control we have to configure the rule, the default condition when the device health status is offline for selected devices will check in real-time and send the action alert either to Channel/Webhook.
Note: - The MTR devices should be registered into TAC to monitor/alert the health status.
The changes take a few hours to sync. Once the changes are synced and when the device is offline, it will send a similar alert.
How to access device stats rules via API -
Invoke GET API method to https://uswest2.monitoringplatform.teams.microsoft.com/api/v1/mta/rule
